Having been so well supported by the WordPress community at the beginning of her new career, she enjoys sharing the knowledge she has acquired with other people passionate about populating the web with clean, functional websites. Andrea Bishop

Andrea worked for a software company for 11 years doing web design, software education, and technical documentation. Her patience and persistence with technical support lead to opportunities to appear on PBS over 80 times and write software manuals. She started blogging in 2004 and switched to WordPress in 2008. Now Andrea supports the users of WordPress.com for Automattic and puts all those skills to work. She is hopelessly addicted to her phone and a good dirty chai. @andrealee_b

Belinda Darcey

Born inside a ring of volcanoes, and raised by a pair of entrepreneurs, Belinda is always up for a challenge and lives by the motto: “How hard can it be?” Naturally, she ended up in tech. 

As the owner of Dolce Design for the past 15 years, she has worn more hats than Lady Gaga: art director, graphic designer, illustrator, copywriter, front-end developer, international rights’ negotiator and handler of nervous clients. She currently directs a remote team of freelance talent, creating websites and branding on a variety of platforms. Her first book, The Princess Guide To Rome, was recently published using Montreal’s own WP-based platform, PressBooks@belindadarcey

Brian Rotsztein

As an experienced Internet marketing entrepreneur, consultant, speaker, and author, Brian has spent much of the last 17 years helping companies excel online. He’s the head of well-established brands such as Uniseo (a boutique Internet marketing agency) and RedstoneX.com (a web design and online marketing company), where he brings a hype-free, seasoned approach to working with clients. You may have caught his appearances on CTV News or local radio shows. He writes about SEO, content marketing, social media, business, and entrepreneurship, among other topics. Charles St-Pierre

Dan Levy

Dan is a Montreal-based blogger and editor currently working as Content Strategist at Unbounce, the cloud-based landing page builder for marketers. As part of his duties, he manages and edits Unbounce’s WordPress-based blog, which receives roughly 125,000 unique visitors per month. Previously he served as founding editor of Sparksheet, another WordPress-based blog published by the global content marketing agency Spafax. During his tenure there he won more than 40 industry awards, including three Webby Honors, seven Folio magazine awards and a record 24 Canadian Online Publishing Awards. Elida Arrizza

Elida is slightly obsessed with creating delightful user experiences and determining the best way to do just about anything. She has 15 years’ experience spanning commercial photography, digital media, design, fine arts and teaching. By day, Elida is a UX Designer at Sid Lee, an acclaimed creative agency based in Montreal. Jonathan Perlman’s beginnings with WordPress started out as a sideline to his 9 – 5, Monday to Friday job at Dawson College. He wanted to give his client the ability to update content at their leisure. Not knowing anything about WordPress, he took to Google and figured things out. After 4 years, he is still learning new things about WordPress and always strives to do better.

Joseph Karr O’Connor

Joseph Karr O’Connor lives in Santa Monica, California. When Section 508 came into effect in 1999 he began directing teams doing accessible UX on web environments for pasadena.edu and for csun.edu.

Joe has been directing WordPress development in support of higher education, research, and university news since 2005. In 2012 he organized the Meetup group Los Angeles Accessibility and Inclusive Design.

Julio Potier

Kathryn thrives on helping people get the most out of WordPress. After a career designing and building websites for clients, she joined Automattic as a Happiness Engineer in 2012 and is currently a member of the Theme Team, where she help folks with all types of theme-related issues on both WordPress.com and self-hosted sites. She enjoys spreading her passion for WordPress at WordCamps, Girl Geeks, Ladies Learning Code, and other grassroots events. Kaylynne Johnson

Morten Rand-Hendriksen

Morten is a staff author with lynda.com where he focuses on WordPress, standards-based code, and front-end web development. He is also the director of Pink & Yellow Media Inc., a Burnaby, B.C. based design and development agency specializing in WordPress. Morten is an active member of the WordPress community and a co-organizer of the Vancouver WordPress Meetup Group as well as several previous WordCamps. Rick Radko

Rick Radko has been creating web sites and applications since 1996. He launched his first WordPress site in 2008. Rick is at home coding plugins, designing custom themes, building multilingual sites and teaching others to do all of those. His involvement in the WordPress community began when he became a co-founder of the Ottawa WordPress Meetup Group and spoke at WordCamp Toronto around the same time in 2011. Since then he has been a repeat presenter at WordCamps Toronto and Montréal, and launched WordCamp Ottawa in 2013.  Rick is the founder of R-Cubed Design Forge, where he develops and designs web sites and applications using open source software. @r3designforge

Sarah runs a one-woman design and development shop, specializing in custom WordPress sites. Armed with a lightweight laptop and a surprisingly lightweight suitcase, she works from all over the world. You can usually find her tapping away anywhere there’s a power outlet—from ramshackle Soviet sleeper trains to a hut in the Amazon.

Yannick Lefebvre

Yannick Lefebvre is an author and plugin developer who has released eight projects to the official WordPress repository to this day. His book, WordPress Plugin Development Cookbook, is available from Packt Publishing. His first creation, Link Library, has been used on WordPress sites around the world. With a background in Computer Science, he started writing plugins for his own WordPress site in 2004 and quickly started sharing his creations with the community.
