In 2022, WordPress announced a new End-To-End (E2E) Test Utils package powered by Playwright.

Even though WordPress Core has yet to adopt it, Gutenberg has already started using it to some extent. We’re still in the early stages of moving to this new tool, but you can already use it in various WordPress-related projects.

In my presentation, I’ll cover where we stand with this tool right now, what you can do with it immediately, what’s on the horizon, and how to use it, and expand its functionality.

The faster people get on board and contribute, the quicker this transition can happen.
