Meghan Dove

Meghan Dove is a graphic designer and front end developer who enjoys applying design thinking to information architecture and UX. She believes technology based design systems and graphic identities will eventually help bridge the gap between marketing, designers, and developers. A longtime volunteer with WordCamp Montreal, and a mentor and occasional teacher with Ladies Learning Code Montreal, 2018 is her first year helping to organize WordCamp. When not deep diving into design for technology she immerses herself in historic design practice like calligraphy, papermaking, book binding and letterpress.

Ann Cascarano

Ann started using WordPress several years ago when she quickly needed to get a site up and running. Realizing that she would need to get ‘under the hood’ in order to make some of the changes she had in mind, Ann quickly became hooked and hasn’t looked back since. She now teaches students how to use WordPress and build and customize their first themes, as well as how to use Git both for version control and as a tool to deploy and share their sites with the world. She is also a regular mentor a Ladies Learning Code events.

Dana Dragomir

I am a multidisciplinary, bilingual digital communications specialist. I draw on my diverse experience in content creation, social media management, copywriting, and digital strategy to develop an integrated communications strategy that makes sense in today’s increasingly pluralistic communications ecosystem. My passion for meaningful projects, namely in the educational sector, led me to my current position in digital communications at Dawson College, the largest English-language College in Quebec.

Tippi Thole is a freelance graphic designer and zero waste striver. She’s the happy owner of Bright Spot Studio (https://brightspotstudio.com) where she does branding, web and print design for clients around the world. She’s also the proud owner of tinytrashcan.com where she shares simple strategies to reduce waste. Early on in her zero waste journey, she adopted a tiny trash can, which helped her shrink her trash and measure her progress. Jer Clarke

Jer Clarke has been using WordPress since version 1.2 in 2005, when there were no menus, widgets or even pages. Jer builds Global Voices, a non-profit journalism site with thousands of contributors, and works on all aspects of WP, from design and workflow to backend programming.

Jer has spoken at WordCamps in San Francisco, New York, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, and was an original founder of WordCamp Montreal in 2009.

More recently, a trip to Sri Lanka for work set Jer on a path to explore the many nuances of early Buddhist philosophy and practice, which has turned out to be a very rewarding and life-affirming experience.

For 20 years, Anna has been exploring the fascinating connection between body and mind through the daily practice of conscious sounds and movements. Jeremie Bergeron

Du plus loin que je me souvienne, j’ai toujours aimé l’informatique. J’avais une dizaine d’années et je lisais déjà des tutoriels en ligne sur le CSS et le HTML pour créer des sites internet sur les autos. Quelques années plus tard, à l’âge de 16 ans, j’enregistrais ma compagnie au nom d’INTEK PLUS. À ce moment, je faisais plutôt du support technique et de la réparation d’ordinateur. Au cégep, vers l’âge de 18 ans, j’ai commencé à m’intéresser à la programmation et j’ai par la suite été admis à l’université en Science informatique et Génie logiciel. Sheridan Scott is the Senior Customer Lifecycle Manager for Bluehost web hosting, where she develops and maintains communications and marketing strategies for the Bluehost customer base. Michelle is a veteran of public speaking. Teaching is in her DNA. She’s been an instructor for a wide variety of topics including Using Quantitative Data Analysis Software, Meditative Drawing, Intro to WordPress, and Marketing for Massage Therapy. Michelle speaks at conferences all over North America. Depuis plus d’un an, j’étudie et expérimente avec ReactJS et son environnement. Je suis actuellement, à terminer la refonte complète de mon site Web. Il sera construit avec ReactJS et GraphQL comme un projet Headless donc WordPress en backend. Mes connaissances avec ReactJS me permet maintenant d’introduire cette nouvelle façon de faire dans les projets de mon employeur.

Alexandre Boivin

Alexandre est un développeur back-end, il a d’excellentes connaissances en PHP, ce qui lui permet de s’adapter aux différents CMS et défis qu’il rencontre. Au cours de la dernière année, il a créé différents plugins WordPress et différents branchements d’API. Jamie Schmid has a particular passion for creating excellent content experiences. Dwayne McDaniel

Dwayne has been working in tech and open source sales since 2005.

He knew as soon as he started working with Java middleware developers he never wanted to work outside of open source ever again. Dwayne first started building in Drupal and WordPress for the San Francisco Improv teams and projects. He fell in the love the community and then found a position at Pantheon at the end of 2013.

Kaylynne Johnson

Miriam is the lead developer at Pondstone Digital Marketing, a boutique agency in Ottawa. She started playing around with WordPress for personal projects in 2009, and for professional projects two years later. Miriam is also one of the co-organizers for WordCamp Ottawa, and helps run the social media for the Ottawa WordPress community. She also speaks at various WordCamps across North America.

Outside of her web development life, she is an instructor at her local karate dojo, and also competes in the pro-am categories in international latin ballroom dance.
